January 31, 2012 - Mecachrome wins 2012 Ulysse Prize
Amboise, January 31st 2012 – Mecachrome was awarded 2012 Ulysse Prize during a ceremony that took place on January 30th at the Automobile Club de France in Paris.
Under the sponsorship of Francois Baroin, France’s Secretary of State for the Economy, Finance and Industry, the Ulysse Prize is awarded to a company for the best turnaround of the year. It was created in 2011 by the Paris-based Association pour le Retournement des Entreprises (ARE).
The ARE is a multi-disciplinary professional association whose goal is to develop and promote actions of turnaround and restructuring in France and in Europe. The association has 140 members who are experts involved in business restructuring and turnarounds.
Julio de Sousa, the President of Mecachrome, received the trophy from Guilhem Bremond, the President of the ARE. He thanked everyone who contributed to the turnaround of Mecachrome: « I am very grateful for the efforts made by all the people involved in this turnaround, which are symbolized by this Prize. I would like to take the time tonight to thank them all. »
Mr. de Sousa particularly insisted on the important contribution of the employees in winning the Prize: « I can’t wait to bring back this trophy to the employees to show them the honor that is given to them. This trophy belongs to them; they greatly deserve it, because it comes as a recognition of their efforts. »
